in 2018, we were able to donate thousands to charity. In 2019, we are taking a new approach to our charitable giving in hopes that we will be able to give even more. This year we are happy to donate a percentage of every item sold to one of 12 different charities we've chosen to support. The amount donated from each item varies based on the cost of the item and we are well on our way to being able to donate thousands this year as well.
You can track our charitable progress on each of our product pages with the donation tracker!
We thought it would be a great idea to outline all of the charities we've chosen to work with in order to give you a better idea as to where you'd like to allocate the donations made possible by your purchases. When you're ready to checkout, simply head to your shopping cart and at the top of the page you'll find a drop-down menu to choose from 12 different charities. You may also choose to split the donation from your order evenly amongst them all.
Here's who you help support, when you support Emmy + Dove.

Obstetric fistula is one of the most serious and tragic childbirth injuries. It is a hole between the birth canal and bladder or rectum caused by prolonged, obstructed labour, without access to timely, high-quality medical treatment. It leaves women leaking urine, faeces or both, and often leads to chronic medical problems, depression, social isolation and deepening poverty.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, The Arab region and Latin America and the Caribbean, some 2 million women are estimated to be living with fistula. 50,000 to 100,000 new cases develop each year. Obstetric Fistula is almost entirely preventable with proper medical care and treatment. The fact that it still run rampant through the poorest parts of the world, is a sign and testament of global inequality and the shortcomings in health systems that fail to protect the most vulnerable among us.
The Fistula Foundation provides life-changing surgeries to the women affected by Obstetric Fistulas, giving them hope and a new chance at a fulfilling life and journey through motherhood. in the last 10 years, they've provided surgeries to almost 40,000 women who otherwise would have had to live their lives on the outskirts of society, suffering with incontinence and embarrassment. They work to help provide preventative healthcare too, to ensure that less cases of Obstetric Fistula develop.
The National Women's Law Center has been at the forefront of every major advancement for women in the last 40 years. They work toward policies and laws that help women and girls become exactly who they were meant to be by ensuring they can reach their potential at home, in school and in their communities. They have also started a new legal defense fund for the movement to end Sexual Harassment in the workplace, TIME'S UP.
“Sexual harassment and assault is rampant. So many people need help fighting back – especially women working at low-wage jobs who can’t afford attorneys to represent them. And so many of our workplaces need structural change. More women at the top. Equal pay. Safety, no matter where you work or live. And so much more. On January 1, 2018, we announced the creation of TIME’S UP and the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund. We had $13 million in commitments from 200 donors. Today, more than 21,000 people from around the world have contributed more than $22 million to connect women who experience workplace sexual harassment and retaliation with attorneys and, in some cases, media specialists.” - https://nwlc.org/times-up-legal-defense-fund/
